Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

In this episode, there were 6 main shooting locations. (1) Some of the exterior Rura Penthe sequences were filmed in northern Alaska, the first time Star Trek had been filmed outside of California. Alaska Locations, Inc., was hired as location scout for those scenes which were filmed at Knik Glacier, Chugach State Park, Valdez-Cordova Census Area. (2) The external shots of the dilithium mines prison of Rura Penthe were filmed at the Bronson Caves at Bronson Canyon in Griffith Park. (3) The interior shots of Rura Penthe were filmed on Paramount Stage 16 (see ENT S2 DVD, Enterprise Secrets). (4) Two locations were used for Camp Khitomer. The internal and external shots for Camp Khitomer were filmed at House of the Book at Brandeis-Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University in Brandeis, California. (5) Additional external shots, also for the matte painting, including the foreground terrace and the lake of Camp Khitomer were filmed at the Fireman's Fund Building at 777 San Marin Drive, Novato, California. This office location has been permanently closed, has been sold, and is scheduled for redevelopment. (6) The Starfleet Headquarters briefing room scene was filmed in the Henrietta Mears Auditorium of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, 1760 N Gower Street in Los Angeles.
