House of the Book - Brandeis, CA
American Jewish University, Brandeis-Bardin Campus, 1101 Peppertree Lane, Brandeis, California 93064 USA
The Brandeis-Bardin Institute was founded in 1941 by Shlomo Bardin (Bardinstein). The House of the Book was designed for the institution in 1973 by architect Sidney Eisenshtat. The House of the Book is the largest hall on campus, and the futuristic, cylindrical building serves as a performance hall and as a location for sci-fi productions.
The futuristic architecture has appeared as a location in several film and television projects including Star Trek's Next Generation as Lore's Borg compound, and the film “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”.
The woods surrounding the area of the House of the Book was, also, used as a filming location. See aerial photo.
